">New Shoot!!

Posted on: May 14, 2013 | Posted by: Vogue | No Comments

Hey,

So I’ve been pretty busy since I’ve been in Dublin and here are a few shots from my new shoot with Stellar magazine.

I got to work with one of my favourite stylists, and fashion editor at Stellar, Corina Gaffey. I always end up buying half the clothes when I shoot with Corina, I bought denim shorts and the gorgeous silver buffalo shoes in theses shots. One of my favourite looks of the day was the baseball cap with the dress (shown above) I thought it looked deadly!!

The photographer was Corina’s sister Naomi. She’s amazing, I always love the pics and I loved the blue background she chose for this shoot. Here is her website, check out some of her other shoots…www.naomigaffey.com

I really enjoyed the shoot because I got to work with a great team which made the day so much fun. Ashley O’ Rourke did the make up and she can make anyones skin look flawless, I work with Ashley all the time and she even did my wedding. Ashleys website is…http://www.ashleyorourke.ie/

Happy Valentines day!!!

I’m also in love with boots at the minute, I’m wearing them all the time because they are perfect for the cold weather…They are also going to be great with shorts and dresses for the summer!! I found the most gorgeous pair of Balenciaga boots online the other day and I think I’m going to have to invest I NEED THEM!!!! I also love the styles tony bianco have in at the minute. I want them all!!

I’ve always been a fan of the sporty look, and I’m glad its staying put! I got some gorgeous leather trackie bottoms from Manning Cartell recently that I wear all the time, I even had to get them in black too!

I am loving wearing my trainers with a dressed up outfit, Ive been wearing them with dresses and shorts, so comfy!!! Heres a couple of pairs I’ve been wearing by PUMA.

The Tour!

Posted on: February 6, 2013 | Posted by: Vogue | No Comments

Hey Guys,

So Ive been touring around England with Brian for the last three weeks, its been brilliant. Unbelievably cold but loads of fun catching up with people from college and friends from London. Brian’s supporting Ronan Keating and the tour has been going really well and I’m delighted for them. Brian’s loving being back on the road, I enjoy it but maybe not as much as Brian!!! If I don’t have to pack another suitcase it wont be too soon!!

The show is really good and there have been about 16 dates so far. There’s a lot of travelling involved, we get up everyday and travel to a new city which is pretty cool because I’ve been to so many places I had never been to in England.

I’ve also been travelling back and forth to Dublin for work, I got to do a wedding shoot the other day. It was so much fun, I got to wear about 40 different wedding dress’s, I think I’ll definitely be having another wedding with Brian in the next five years, they are just way too much fun. In the meantime I get to be bridesmaid at my friends wedding in April which can’t wait for…

Heres a link to one of Brian’s performances at the O2 in London.

The Gary Player Invitational

Posted on: December 4, 2012 | Posted by: Vogue | No Comments

Hey all!!

The Gary Player Invitational is a huge charity golf event held every year, four times in different places around the world. It has been set up by Gary Player who is known as one of the greatest players in the history of golf.  He set up the player foundation in 1983; it’s an organisation that brings aid to underprivileged children and impoverished communities. We were invited to the event in South Africa and were so delighted to be apart of it. Gary Player has done so much good work for the poorer people of South Africa, its amazing how much work one man can do and its really quite inspiring.

We flew into South Africa on the Wednesday evening and went straight to our hotel, which was stunning. It was beside the beach and had monkeys running around all over the place!! I couldn’t believe how green South Africa was, it wasn’t what was expecting, and it reminded me of a warm Ireland! Brian played the pro am the next day, I didn’t play this year as I’m useless at golf but after seeing Brian’s score I should have reconsidered!!! He wore his Puma golf gear all weekend but somehow its now made it into his everyday wardrobe he won’t take it off so now we look like twins! That night we had a welcome evening down at the beach club. There was music and food and it was a great night. I wore a Rachel Gilbert dress, which I love, her new collection has so many great pieces, this dress could also be worn without the shirt but I was cold!

Heres Brian with some of his friends that were at the event. There was a really cool group of people there we made lots of new friends!

The second evening there was a black tie gala dinner followed by a charity auction. The auction was a massive success raising over R4 million (roughly $400,000). The top bid of the evening went to an exclusive maters experience with Gary player. The great thing about the auction was that if you didn’t get a prize you could still contribute by buying a bike. They cost $150 and were given to families who have nothing. The bikes allow the families to carry things they need and get to places, including cutting a child’s two-hour walk to school down to just 30 minutes.

The tournament started on the Friday and went on until Sunday. There was loads to do during the day too and I went horse riding which was loads of fun, I really want to take it up again but I don’t think Id be into the effort of owning a horse!!! I also started yoga, I thought it was meant to be easy…its not! And I started tennis lessons again but Ill have to find someone who doesn’t mind playing with me because I’m not very good at it!

The third night was the big party and there was an African band and an African dance group who were unreal! We all went to the nightclub and it was a great end to an unforgettable week!! I wore a Bec and Bridge dress, Rachel Gilbert shirt and Tony Bianco Shoes!!

The Gary Player Invitational was such a brilliant event, a huge amount of time and effort goes into it and it really paid off. I cannot believe the generosity of Gary Player, he really has such a big heart and he does so much to help the poor of his country. I found out that Gary does four events like this a year raising huge amount of money for charity’s in South Africa. The amount of work done by Gary alone is really inspiring. The team around him did an amazing job too and made sure everything ran smoothly. We had a brilliant week and want to go back already!!

Emeralds and Ivy Ball

Posted on: November 24, 2012 | Posted by: Vogue | No Comments

Hey guys,

It was the first Ivy and Emeralds ball held in Sydney and it was a massive success. Ronan Keating pulled out all the stops for his ball. It was a brilliant night of food, music and fund raising. The ball was held in the Ivy Ballroom in the city centre which was a great location.

The incredible generosity on the night shown by Etihad, IWC watches and chef matt moran amongst another number of amazing sponsers was unreal. There was a big array of auction prizes and they were all bought and a huge amount of money was raised for Cancer Council Australia.

Ronan performed on the night, Ive never seen him perform again and he was brilliant. I actually didn’t realise I knew all of the words to so many of his songs maybe even more than Brians!!! My favourite song of the night was rollercoaster, my sister used to be obsessed with that song so she’ll be well jel she missed it!!!

Unfortunately the lounge music I was planning on playing wouldn’t work after Ronans performance as he had gotten everyone on the dance floor, so I had to start it off with Gangnam style!! I still love that song and there was a dance floor full of people doing the dance, including Mel B who got taught by the man himself!!!

Kylie gillies great job, she was very witty very funny and very entertaining. It must have been tough keeping everyone in check but she was well able for us!

There were some stunning outfits on the night, the boys looking slick in suits and the girls rocking their best dress’s, Storm looked amazing in a Carl Kapp white Grecian gown, I also loved Kate Ritchies yellow dress, her hair looked amazing, I might be stealing that style in future!!! It definitely seemed as though summer had arrived, despite the rain as yellow seemed to be the colour of the night with Stephanie Rice wearing a long yellow dress and I was wearing a long sleeved and beaded Rachel Gilbert dress. Mel B and Natalie Bassingthwaighte looked gorgeous, as did the presenter of the evening Kylie Gillies.

A lot of money was raised by the generous people, this was the first Ivy and emeralds ball held in Australia and it looks like it wont be the last as it was a huge success just like its sister events held in England and Ireland.

Oaks Day

Posted on: November 12, 2012 | Posted by: Vogue | No Comments

Holla,

Oaks day felt like a totally different atmosphere, it seemed like everyone was in the mood to party which suited me as I was djing in the Lavazza tent which is most definitely the party tent!! The Lavazza tent had a neon theme going on which was pretty cool. The food again was AMAZING who knew burnt butter sauce on pasta was the nicest thing in the world??? Well to be fair butter makes everything better!!! I got to chill a bit in the tent before djing which was good so we could sit and have a drink and even a punt!! I refused to bet after Derby day because I always lose, ALWAYS!!! Brian picked the winner for the Oakes race so maybe I should have placed that bet after all!

I was djing for three house on Oakes day and it was pretty cool because I got to play tracks that I used to play on my radio show back in Dublin, I had Hot Chip, Lykke li and loads of other artists I don’t get to play all the time plus everyone was dancing and it just makes it more fun to play. Rikki Lee also performed in the Lavazza Marquee, her voice is unreal and she’s got such a great stage presence, I have to get my hands on her new album! Mena Suvari was also a guest of Lavazza, she seems really nice, I got my photo with her but I actually look like the green giant beside her so Im not posting it!!!

I wore a Manning Cartell dress, Rebecca Share head piece and Tony Bianco shoes, which were actually my wedding shoes!!! I think I might be a tad obsessed with Manning Cartell but I only discovered them when I came to Oz and they have amazing stuff so I might just have to be obsessed a little bit longer!!

Derby Day

Posted on: November 12, 2012 | Posted by: Vogue | No Comments

Hey y’all!!!

So this was my first year at the races and I had SO much fun!!! We went to the Emirates tent on Derby day and it was brilliant. They had an Irish theme and I have to say Brian and I felt right at home…It was done up so well and its amazing to see the amount of thought that went into their tent, there was an Irish post office and inside was like an old Irish pub which looked exactly like one down to the carpet and cobble stones outside!! They served guiness (obviously) but I have to say Im not a fan so instead I drank a smashed apple cocktail which was delicious. I also ate everything that went around including salmon, scallops and stew yuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmm!

I got to bring my brother to the races with us which was cool because he’s moving home soon so it was good to spend his last races in Australia with him. He kept being mistaken for Chris O’Dowd on the day, it was pretty funny, someone even tried asking him about the scenes in The Sapphires! He also decided to let me know that I looked like Willy Wonka in my sunglasses, I ended up losing them and I don’t think Ill buy another pair because I do sort of Look like The Wonka!! We don’t really celebrate the races to the extent that the Aussies do but I wish we did. The atmosphere was amazeballs all day and I loved how everyone was all dressed up, everyone looked fab…

I wore a Manning Cartell top and skirt, a Rebecca Share head piece and Christian Laboutins. I loved my outfit and hadn’t really tried out the showing my waist trend but I was lucky I did that day because it was raosting and I got some ventilation!!!!

Holliers!!!!

Hey everyone,

Well were back in sunny Australia after an amazing time in Ireland and Italy!! It was really good getting to go home and see all my family and friends and have a good few party’s, sure it’d be rude not to!! We got to stop in Dubai on our way back which was like being in a hairdryer it was roasting!! Such an amazing city, the shopping is unreal and we went to Ferrari world and went on the fastest rollercoaster in the world. It was insane and my face was pretty much covered in spit because it going so fast I couldn’t shut my mouth!

Posing in Dubai!!

Dublin was great, as always, Brian  filmed a tv show over there and I did a little bit of work which was good because I always enjoy working in Ireland.

Night out after Brians show!

We marched again this year for marriage equality. There was a great turn out and myself and my sister gave a speech. I hadn’t given a speech since school so it was pretty nerve wracking but well worth it. I just hope that something gets done about it and if not it’ll be back to marching until something changes.

March for Marriage!

My sister Amber and I at the march for marriage!

We had a joint hen and stag party which was great. We had it in the Wright Venue, it’s a really cool club in Dublin and was perfect for the night. I know a lot of people want to know why we had a joint one but it was actually because we had a lot of friends flying over from Australia and we all wanted to spend time together so why not have a big party together, I can have a girls night whenever I want!!

Stag/Hen Party!

Im getting back all of the wedding photos next week so Ill do a blog with all of them next week…
